Classical Music Summer Matinée 2015

The sun was shining all through last sunday’s 3rd Classical Music Matinée under the art nouveau arcades of Gut Hochreute. Eight great artists took us on a musical journey with their virtuoso performances, this year inspired by the topic of love. We did not plan the stage to be crowned by a heart-shaped cloud… but it is just what happened at the end of the wonderful concert!

The four stringplayers of the “Rossini Streichquartett”, pianist Fabio Ceroni of the Munich State Opera house, stunning mezzosoprano Sibylle Wolf, our Italian tenor discovery Christian Grillo and Maria Burghoff with her viola gave touching performances of e.g. J.S. Bach’s “Air”, Vivaldi’s famous “Spring” and other works by the likes of Schumann, Bizet, Puccini, Gershwin and Händel.

The matinée has become a wonderful EC tradition and a cultural highlight for the region. We celebrated both with lots of homemade cake and coffee afterwards and are already looking forward to next year’s exhibiton and matinée. Many thanks to all the friends who made this such a joy and big success!
