Because of the popularity of our past open house days, we decided to try with two days every year, one in spring and one in autumn. The rather rainy autumn weather did not keep several hundred people from taking the shuttle from the down at the lake up to the Europe Center. There is no bad weather, just bad clothing, as they say. :)
Our guests had time to join tours of the old monument-protected buildings of “Gut Hochreute” as well as of the new building. Afterwards, pretty much everyone attended the introductory explanations and the guided meditation in the big gompa, taking the chance also to admire the upper floor of the rebuilt old barn which is now of course our beautiful, shining meditation hall.
Many visitors bought books in the Dharma shop to deepen their Buddhist knowledge or meditation supply like a meditation booklet along with a mala (Tib., prayer beads), or some incense for inspiration at home.
After all this, everyone got their well-deserved coffee with homemade cake or Leberkäs-Semmel and enjoyed some relaxed time in our pub.
For us it was a great pleasure once again to host so many interested people and to answer so many bright and open questions about Buddhism!
